Class B Truck Driver
Classroom Hours
Classroom hours for truck driver training consists of:
- Orientation
- Log book training
- Special features of the straight truck as well as inspections
- Hazards, emergency truck maneuvers and accidents emphasis on entering/exiting roadways
- City, night driving and extreme weather
- Customer relations and cargo
Other coverages:
- Vehicle start up, shut down
- Basic safe driving techniques
- Speed and space management
- Making turns, backing, parking
- Communicating with others on the road
Class B Truck Driver
Field Training
Field training hours for truck driver students:
- Vehicle pre-trip inspection
- Maneuvers needed to pass the MA State Police CDL Skills Exam
Once the student feels confident and the Tri-State instructor feels that the student is handling the equipment properly, the student then moves out onto the public roadways to complete their truck driving course.
